About Us

The Pittsburgh Historical Music Society was founded in 2010 by William and Laura Lockard as a way to promote and expand the performance of music on historical instruments. The PHMS understands that music is part of the culture, and is best understood in it's original context. For that reason the PHMS strives to also perform in historical dress and in historical venues. Lively and engaging intrepretation of history helps bring our heritage to life.

He regularly performs solo and chamber music.

He is the Music Director at Old Economy Village, conducting their period 1825 orchestra.
